Watch Black Lewis “Heartbreak on Vinyl” Music Video

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Whether you like American Idol finalist Blake Lewis’ music – or he’s a distant memory from your AI memory reserves – he’s got the right idea with his new music video for “Heartbreak on Vinyl.”

In fact, there’s not a smidge of Blake Lewis seen througout the Heartbreak on Vinyl music video – rather, it’s a pieced together mash of 80s and 90s films. And whose little nostalgic hearts can’t resist that?

Madonna Songs to be Featured on Glee; Adam Lambert Too?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Glee sings Madonna
Glee is going to “Get Into the Groove,” it seems, as Madonna has offered up her entire catalog to the hit Fox show. Expect Madonna songs to be featured on an upcoming episode early next year!

Also potentially on the Glee horizon? Show co-creator Ryan Murphy is hoping to get American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert to guest star.

Personally, I’m hoping the Glee kids tackle some of Madonna’s 80s classics – Papa Don’t Preach, Express Yourself, Into the Groove, Vogue or Like a Virgin (Rachel? Quinn?) are tops on my list.

Will Paula Abdul Return as American Idol Judge?

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Paula Abdul no longer judge on American Idol?
Things aren’t looking so great for Paula Abdul to return as an American Idol judge, according to her manager, anyway.

David Sonenberg, Abdul’s manager, told the LA Times, “Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on Idol.” Oh no!

Sonenberg reports that there is no contract for Paula Abdul yet, noting, “I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

Will American Idol be the same without Paula Abdul? Or is more happening behind the scenes to drum up a pay raise for Abdul?

Ryan Seacrest American Idol contract
Ryan Seacrest just keeps getting richer. Seacrest is finalizing his contract extension on American Idol, which will continue his hosting gig plus give him other development opportunities.

Sources are saying the contract keeps Ryan Seacrest as the Idol host for three years, and will make him one of the highest paid reality hosts on TV. His current pay scale was $100,000 per episode during the past season.

Ryan Seacrest is also likely to develop a series with Idol creator Simon Fuller under the new contract.

American Idol’s Carly Smithson Joining Evanescence Band The Fallen

Carly Smithson The Fallen
Let me clarify that… American Idol finalist Carly Smithson is joining three of the four original members from Evanescence in a new band called The Fallen.

The hard-rock band should be a good fit for Carly Smithson, who had a hard edge on her American Idol pop delivery.

Look for The Fallen’s first song, “Bury Me Alive,” available Monday for free download at wearethefallen.com.

The Evanescence members include guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray; bassist Marty O’Brien and Carly Smithson round out the group.

Carly Smithson had sung the Evanescence tune “Bring Me to Life” during the 2008 Idols tour and said that “This all happened by accident.”

The Fallen apparently found their groove quite easily - Smithson commented, “The first time we rehearsed, everybody started in on this jam of Iron Maiden. I was like, ‘I’m in a band! I love this!’ “

David Archuleta’s Father, Jeff Archuleta, Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Jeff Archuleta charged in prostitution sting
Overpowering David Archuleta stage dad, Jeff Archuleta, was arrested in a prostitution sting at a massage parlor! News of the Jeff Archuleta charges broke overnight - he admitted to receiving sexual services with his back massage.

The raid of the Queens of Reiki massage parlor happened on January 14 in Midvale, Utah. Jeff Archuleta pleaded no contest and paid a $582 fine. Archuleta was the only client receiving services at the time of the raid.

Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar reported, “Two of our detectives went back to that room to stop the activity. Inside they found a female masseuse and male client. At that time an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse.”

Salazar also commented, “We read him his Miranda rights twice. The second time because he said he didn’t understand them the first. During the questioning, he said he’d found the place on Craig’s List. He was asked if he’d received any sexual services and he said he had.”

Ew.
