Breaking news: Newlywed Ashlee Simpson has officially changed her name to Ashlee Wentz. 

The powerhouse entertainer claims, "I think that that's something that a woman should do when they're marrying a man.  It's a tradition that I think is a great tradition."

Ashlee married rocker Pete Wentz in a semi-private ceremony on May 17th.

Joe Simpson insisted that Ash and Pete get their finances in order before getting married, particularly since Jessica reportedly had to pay more than $10 million following her divorce with Nick Lachey.

Ashlee married in sunset ceremony at her parents’ Encino, CA estate on Saturday. She is reportedly four months pregnant, and is worth $6 million.

Although everyone (ok, maybe 3-4 people) are talking about the Saturday Simpson/Wentz nuptials, the real story is about how these two "musicians" first locked eyes.  Darling Ashlee admits to flashing him the first time they met in 2005, "lifting" her dress over her head.  Somewhere deep in the valley, father Joe Simpson is beaming with pride. 

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are rushing up the aisle and will wed next week in California, reports Hollyscoop.

The couple has sent out invites to friends and family, urging them all to be ready for a big day on May 16. An insider revealed:

 "The location will not be revealed until the day of the wedding but guests are told it will be an hour drive from Los Angeles."
