Ellen DeGeneres So You Think You Can Dance with Twitch “Outta Your Mind” (Video)

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Watch Ellen DeGeneres in this So You Think You Can Dance finale performance with tWitch to “Outta Your Mind” (video). Ellen was the special guest filling in to replace injured Alex, in one of the best routines of the SYTYCD season.

Ellen DeGeneres reportedly practiced for a month to dance with tWitch in the routine… how did she do?

While there are plenty of critics, remember that Ellen is not a dancer and she’s in her early 50’s – I think she made it really fun and entertaining.

Ellen DeGeneres Quits American Idol; Ellen Leaving Idol Judge Gig

Ellen DeGeneres quits American Idol
News that Ellen DeGeneres quit American Idol is spreading like wildfire tonight. Ellen DeGeneres issued a statement that she’s leaving the American Idol judges’ panel, leaving another free seat at the table.

Ellen DeGeneres made the announcement in a statement:

“A couple months ago, I let FOX and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.

I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had, I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

Executive producer Simon Fuller also made a statement about Ellen leaving Idol: “I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”

Looks like rumors that Jessica Simpson may be an American Idol judge aren’t that far fetched, hmm?
