30 Rock Live Episode October 14

Friday, July 30th, 2010

30 Rock Live episode
This is what I like to hear… “30 Rock” will air a live episode on October 14, according to NBC. “Tina Fey is up for it, coming from Saturday Night Live,” NBC President of Primetime Entertainment, Angela Bromsted, said at the Television Critics Association today.

Bromstead commented, “We’re doing as much as we can to garner attention for this show so it can stay true to them creatively. I think it’s a great idea.”

A live 30 Rock is definitely a ratings gimmick, but sounds like comic gold waiting to happen.

Maura Tierney Health Update: Surgery for Breast Tumor

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Maura Tierney breast tumor surgery
We reported earlier that production on “Parenthood” had been delayed because actress Maura Tierney was undergoing a “medical evaluation.” Apparently, the way NBC worded this caused rumors and speculation to fly, so Maura Tierney is setting the record straight with a health update statement.

Maura Tierney writes, “In an effort to guard my privacy, it seems that the wording of NBC’s press release has unfortunately caused some confusion and undue alarm about my health. I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery. I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed. My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition. I’m very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon.”

Here’s hoping the very best for Maura Tierney!

NBC’s “Parenthood” Pushed to Midseason Due to Maura Tierney Illness (Video)

Monday, July 13th, 2009

The new NBC drama “Parenthood” has been pushed to midseason due to star Maura Tierney’s unspecified illness. Here’s hoping all is well with Tierney, who is currently undergoing a medical evaluation.

NBC announced that production on Parenthood has been postponed eight weeks, “due to medical evaluation that (Tierney) is undergoing. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time.”

Parenthood, based on the 1989 film, had been scheduled to begin filming in late July – now it will begin in late September.

Parenthood, starring Peter Krause, Tierney, Erika Christensen and Dax Shepard as siblings in various stages of family relationships, had been slated for a September 23 premiere. Check out the sneak peek video for what looks to be a very good dramatic series.

Parenthood will now begin mid-season on NBC.
